Last update 05.24.10

Thanks for coming to see some of the photos I've taken.
These are digitized photographs so it would be best if you:
  • Set your screen area to at least 1024 x 768. Higher is better.
  • Set your colors to at least 64000 colors. More is better.
  • Maximize your Internet browser to fill your entire computer screen.
  • Have a little patience if you have a dial up modem.
Click on one of the headings to the left and then on
a location to see the thumbnails.
Clicking on the thumbnail will bring you to a full size picture.
Any feed back you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Enjoy, Payton
Miscellaneous ramblins'

"What type of camera are you using?"
For my photos, it's an old Canon AE1 from the mid 1970s. That is a 35mm film camera
and I use either the standard 50mm lens or a Canon 135mm "portrait" lens. I also have
a Samsung "point and shoot" and usually use that when weight or space is at a premium.
I don't own a digital camera so all my photos on the site have been scanned and perhaps
"tweaked" a bit. Film is Kodak Royal Gold, Kodak Gold or Fuji on sale! Development labs
vary from "pro labs" for the Royal Gold film to whatever grocery/drug store is convenient!
-June 2004, I now use a Canon digital Rebel, my first digital camera. WooHoo!
-November 2006, Strike that, I sold the Rebel and bought a Canon 30d!

"Why Chowhound?"
'Cuz all the other names I wanted were taken!   Besides, I thought it was appropriate.

"When will I finish adding the other photos?"
Uh, Probably the same time I add more text to the photos I already have.   Many of the photos
do have interesting stories to go with them.   Sir Isaac Newton's first law is in effect.

"How will I know when the new photos and stories are viewable?"
You can check the "last update" in the upper left corner of this page.
Or, I can put you on the update notice email list.

"Can I get a copy of a photo?"
Sure.   You can download and save it from the website, or I can send you a much higher
resolution digital original or a "real" paper photograph if I have it available.

"Why doesn't the "email" link work?"
Well, there are these programs that scour the internet looking for email addresses.   They collect
and sell them and you wind up receiving (even more) "Spam".   By not having a working email
address or the "@" symbol, I'm hoping to foil the "spambots".

"How come Chowhound.org doesn't show up on search engines?"
I've never submitted it to the many search engines to be listed.   But Hey, you found it!
This web site was, and still is, just a way for me to share vacation photos and stories.
Of course, I'm still lacking in the story part.
